Organic farm in Val di Vara: vegetable garden, olive trees and country life

I Due Ghiri is both an agriturismo and a 35-hectare organic farm in the hills of Calice al Cornoviglio. We grow vegetables, fruit and olives, care for our animals and bring into the kitchen what the land offers at the right time.

From the land to the table

Our vegetable garden, olive grove and orchard

The countryside is part of everyday life at I Due Ghiri. We grow vegetables, fruit and olives, cooking with our harvest and produce chosen locally. Both our work and our dishes change with the seasons.

Garden and orchard

The garden and orchard

Tomatoes, courgette flowers, herbs, figs, apples and other seasonal fruit appear at breakfast, in preserves, cakes and dinners at I Due Ghiri.

We do not aim for the same menu twelve months a year. When the garden is generous, the kitchen follows; when one season ends, the ingredients and recipes change.

Vegetable garden

Vegetables, herbs and produce harvested when they are naturally ready.

Orchard

Figs, apples and other fruit served fresh or used for cakes and preserves.

Small farm

Fresh eggs and animals that are part of everyday life at the agriturismo.

Kitchen

Where the work in the fields becomes breakfast, dinner, preserves and home cooking.

Olive trees and tradition

The olive grove and our oil

We look after the olive trees surrounding the agriturismo and harvest the olives for extra virgin olive oil. It is one of the products that best expresses the link between these hills and our table: simple, everyday and unmistakably Ligurian.

Our small farm

Hens, geese, peacocks and rabbits

Hens, geese, peacocks and rabbits live here with us. You can watch them during your stay while respecting their space. We use our hens’ eggs in the kitchen.

A project for the future

The vineyard, a growing project

Stefano planted a small vineyard of less than one hectare with Trebbiano, Vermentino, Albarola and Bosco, varieties connected with the winemaking traditions of the area.

It is still a young project. The aim is to let the vineyard grow in balance with the hillside and, over time, develop a production that can express the identity of I Due Ghiri even more clearly.
